Plants vs. Zombies

About 9 in 10 Americans own a smartphone. This can’t be said for any other gaming platform. Developers are all over this market for that very reason. As a result of all these developers attempting to hit a large audience, this space gets very crowded. Some of the greatest mobile games are free but they get covered up by big name games that are attempting to get their share of the market.

Let’s uncover our first gem buried in the the Play Store. Your first question might be, “What is the Play Store?”. It might sound like something that may be associated with the PlayStation or maybe some other Sony product, but it’s not. The Play Store is a product developed by Google which is the marketplace for apps, games, movies, TV shows, music, and books. The Play Store can be found on Android and Blackberry Devices. Now let’s dig into the game…

Title:  Plants vs. Zombies

Time to Beat:  ~20 Hours

Release Date:  May 05, 2009

Plants vs. Zombie has been around for a while, and quickly became popular… for good reason. This is a mobile game that is casual, strategic, and has tons of unlockables. You will be defending your turf from an onslaught of zombies while attempting to lay down the right plants with the correct abilities to protect your lawn! While it does start off casual, Plants vs. Zombies picks up as you advance through the adventure mode, and it becomes quite challenging. This interesting take on a puzzle game feels like a fresh new experience in comparison to other puzzle games. Aside from the fantastic gameplay, Plants vs. Zombies is packed with strange humor that almost brings me back to Ed, Edd n Eddy. All of this is accompanied with artwork that is simplistic, but well done older phone game, your jaw probably won’t hit the floor though. All-in-all if you’re a fan of puzzle games, free games, plants, and/or zombies this one should be right up your alley.
Good news! There are more Plants vs. Zombies games out there that we can cover on another day, but keep an eye out for those if you this first one doesn’t scratch your itch!
